Student Rights and Responsibilities
As a student with a disability, you have a right to:
- Register for services and support at Accessible Learning at any point of the semester
- Equal access and opportunity to participate in the academic experience at °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ
- Protection and security of your confidential information. Documentation in Accessible Learning Services is stored separately from other student records
- Timely service provision with appropriate notice provided by you
- Not disclose a disability outside of Accessible Learning Services if you do not wish to, other than your accommodations with university staff and faculty
- Receive appropriate and individualized accommodations based on the recommendations in your documentation
- Be treated with dignity and respect
As a student with a disability, you have a responsibility to:
- Respect yourself, other students, proctors, and university staff and faculty
- Conduct yourself in an appropriate manner in all forms of communication
- Respect any administrative deadlines (e.g. deadlines to register for accommodated test/exam)
- Provide documentation within the time frame that is requested
- Notify Accessible Learning Services staff of changes in diagnosis that may result in changes in your accommodations
- Notify professors in advance of deadlines with any intent to use an accommodation in class (e.g. record lectures, cue/formula sheet, etc.)
